We are a small backyard farmstead in Los Angeles led by Heather and Emma — friends with a passion for backyard chicks and homegrown food. We are commited to humane breeding and hatching: our chickens are part of our families, free to explore our backyard pasture as friends and cohabitants.
We make our own feed blends using locally sourced grain and homegrown ingredients. Ours is a unique operation in a city like Los Angeles. We’d like to shift the dial on chicken-keeping, centering reciprocal relationships with animals that prioritize species-specific habitat design for a happy, healthy flock.
We respect holisitc food systems, and in addition to raising our own hens, we breed a range of colored egg layers for backyard enthusiasts to enjoy. We rehome roosters as necessary with farm flocks of their own.
